ITU Research and Teaching Assistant received the IEEE Graduate Fellowship Grant

Research and teaching assistant, Dr. Gülşah Yıldız Altıntaş, from ITU Electronics and Communication Engineering Department was deemed worthy of 2022 IEEE AP-S Graduate Fellowship Grant ( https://enotice.vtools.ieee.org/public/102727 ) financial support with her project proposal in the field of microwave hyperthermia.

Research Assistant from ITU Faculty of Electrics and Electronics, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering Dr. Gulsah Yildiz Altintas, was entitled to receive the 2022 IEEE AP-S Graduate Fellowship Grant with her project proposal titled "Microwave Breast Cancer Hyperthermia and Real-Time Monitoring System" prepared under the consultancy of Prof. İbrahim Akduman and Assoc. Dr. Tuba Yılmaz Abdolsaheb.

In order to receive the 2022 IEEE AP-S Graduate Fellowship Grant support, graduate students and post-doctoral researchers within the first year of their Ph.D degree doing research in antenna and wave propagation field from various universities around the world applied with their own original projects. 124 projects that met the criteria were evaluated by a commission consisting of academicians and private sector representatives who are experts in their fields. At the end of the four-month process, 48 projects were decided to be supported.

Dr. Gülşah Yıldız Altıntaş received a grant for her project titled “Microwave Breast Cancer Hyperthermia and Real-Time Monitoring System”.

About IEEE AP-S

IEEE AP-S is the Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) affiliated to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a US-based professional organization. Since its establishment in 1949, IEEE AP-S serves researchers and the community interested in antennas, their uses and electromagnetic wave propagation; carries out studies to support knowledge transfer and common learning through scientific, technical and educational activities.

2022 IEEE AP-S Graduate Fellowship Program  includes graduate students and post-doctoral researchers who graduated within one year doing research  in the fields of antennas, including analysis, design, development, measurement, and testing; radiation, propagation, and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with discrete and continuous media; and applications and systems pertinent to antennas, propagation, and sensing, such as applied optics, millimeter- and submillimeter-wave techniques, antenna signal processing and control, radio astronomy, and propagation and radiation aspects of terrestrial and space-based communication, including wireless, mobile, satellite, and telecommunications. Within the framework of this program, grant support is given to projects that are deemed worthy of support.
